Hat Sizing Tips

Hat Sizing Tips

Lots of times we see beautiful handmade items and ask ourselves, "but will this fit me?". Well, here at Nicole Ruth Designs, I want to put your mind at ease and share with you the sizing and information about measuring your head to make sure that you get a fit that you want.

I am going to include here, the craft yarn council's measurements for sizing for adult and children's hats and ear warmers. Pretty much anything that goes around your head!

Infant/Child (Circumference (in.))

Preemie: 9–12"

Baby: 14–16"

Toddler: 16–18"

Child: 18–20"

Tween: 20–22"

Adult (Circumference (in.))

 Women's: 21–23"

Men's: 22–24"

When measuring, be sure to use a flexible tape measure and measure along where the band of the hat would sit on your head. This is typically where the above numbers are generated. This can be done for your child as well! If you are looking for a nice snug fit, select a size hat that your measurement falls within. For a more loose and potentially slouchy fit, size up one level.

If you find that your measurement falls outside of the ones listed above, be sure to reach out to me at nicoleruthdesigns@gmail.com. I am always happy to make custom sized pieces.

Check back often for more updates and fun informative posts! :)

Blessings,

Nicole
